Reversed-Phase and Weak Cation-Exchange on a Single Column

The Acclaim^? Mixed-Mode WCX-1 is a novel, high-efficiency, silica-based column, manufactured by bonding a specially designed proprietary ligand with both hydrophobic and weak cation-exchange properties. Selectivity of ionizable and neutral compounds can be controlled independently or simultaneously by tuning phase ionic strength, pH or organic modifier. This column therefore can separate using multiple separation modes: reversed phase, cation exchange, and normal phase/HILIC.

Broad Range of Applications

Basic compounds are important in a variety of industrial applications, including pharmaceutical, chemical, consumer products, food & beverages, and more. However, analyses of these compounds are often challenging when using reversed-phase silica columns. The Acclaim Mixed-Mode WCX-1 provides a remedy to these difficulties: not only does it retain basic molecules (from highly hydrophilic to highly hydrophobic), but also separates them with symmetrical peak shapes and excellent efficiency.

The Acclaim Mixed-Mode WCX-1 column can serve as a primary column for a variety of basic analytes containing samples as well as a secondary column that provides selectivity orthogonal to that of reversed-phase columns.
